申请美研的最佳跳板——UC系统本科申请全解析

最近十年来，大量中国学生扎堆出国，留学热度居高不下。这其中，美国因其发达的高等教育以及众多的知名院校，吸引了众多中国学生前往就读。读美本的学生人数已经占到留美中国学生的将近一半。

作为世界上最好的公立大学系统， 加州大学 各大分校不仅深受美国本地居民的欢迎，对于中国留学生来说更有着巨大的吸引力——

UC 系统录取走势

We teach;

We do research;

We provide public service.

这是UC系统的理念，从这几个口号中可以看到，UC系统的学校主要是服务加州当地的居民的。但最近十年来，不少美国公立大学经费短缺，开始扩大对州外和国际学生的招生，UC系统的学校也不例外。

过去像UC Berkeley和 UCLA 这样的世界顶级名校，国际学生想要进去读本科是非常难的，但这十几年来，有非常多的国际学生包括大量的中国学生有机会入读。

2012年的时候，UCLA入学的新生中竟然有18%的学生为国际生。不过，最近这几年UC Berkeley和UCLA又有缩减国际学生的趋势，但与排名近似的学校比，UC系统的大学招收的中国学生数量还是相对比较多的。

UC系统录取分析

UC系统一共有10所大学，每所大学都有自己的特点和优势学科，US News综合排名前50的UC大学就有6所, 每一所都实力强劲，世界排名也都非常高。一般来讲，根据学校实力（非US News综合排名），我们会把这6所大学分为三档：

Tier1：UCB; UCLA

Tier2： UCSD ; UCD

Tier3： UCI ; UCSB

但是近年来，Tier3的学校进步非常明显，大有赶超Tier2学校的趋势。

Tier1中，关于谁是老大，大家争论的也很多。但从学校的真正实力看，UCB还是当仁不让的老大，尽管它的US News综合排名已经被UCLA超越。Roopsi之前多位被UCB录取的学生，申PHD的结果都非常好，UCB在美国同行中的声望可见一二。

对于中国的美本申请人来讲，UC持续了很长的黄金招生期，近十余年来，UCLA和UCB这两大牛校招收了大量的中国本科新生。但这两三年来，情况明显发生变化，即使是国内非常顶尖的高中，过去每年可能会录十几个UCLA或UCB，这两年却纷纷只拿到一两个录取，甚至有全军覆没的情况出现。目前，Top 50中的UC系统学校，相对比较好录的是UCSB和UCD，甚至UCI的录取难度这两年都上升了非常多。UC系统的录取难度基本上是： UCB≥UCLA＞UCSD＞UCSB≥UCI＞UCD

UC系统的学校， UCB和UCLA的录取难度是独一档的存在 ，而且最近几年，UCB和UCLA的招生有偏向国内最 顶尖高中 的趋势， 普通中学 或是在国外大学中 知名度较低的学校 的学生拿到这两个学校录取的机会 大大降低 。

举个例子，2018年北京某顶尖高中录了15个学生UCB，30个UCLA；这几乎占了这两个学校在北京录取人数的一半；上海、广州、深圳、武汉等美本申请人数较多的地区也有类似的趋势。可以说，这两个学校已经形成了自己的招生偏好，并且在国内有自己的重点 feed school 。

UC其他校区招生就相对广泛多了，不管是知名中学的国际部，还是相对普通一些的学校，录取的人数都比较多，分布范围也非常广。

UC系统申请条件解析

谈到UC系统的录取，不能不提UC的 Comprehensive Review Process, 这个是UC系统的学校在审理学生申请材料时会关注的14点，建议申请UC的同学仔细查看：

除了UC统一的14点参考因素，UC系统的每个学校都有自己的录取特点和看重的地方。关于每个学校具体看重的因素，可以参看以下链接：

UCB

UCLA

UCSD

UCSB

UCI

特别提醒

首先， UC系统的所有学校都非常看重 GPA 和高中课程 ，GPA 低于3.0 的话，被 录取的概率会非常低 ，Roopsi一般建议国内的学生申请时GPA建议 不低于3.5 。

并且， UC也是非常看重高三最后一个学期的成绩 ，曾经也有过因为高三成绩不理想，UC最终把学生录取撤回的情况。另外，在确定入学后，学校需要学生签署 Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) , 并且寄送官方成绩单，如果成绩单没有在学校规定的时间前（一般是7月1日）寄到，录取也会被撤销。

UC系统标化成绩要求

（注意⚠️，虽然UC前段时间宣布取消对标化考试 SAT 和ACT成绩的大学入学申请要求。但也同时指出， 如果学生提交成绩优异的SAT或ACT标化考试分数，将会帮助提高学生录取的机率。 如果学生提交的标化考试分数或是位于平均或低于平均分数，则对该成绩并不会对申请产生影响，但也不会是负面的。UC将不会在可选的申请要求中以标化考试平均或低于平均的分数来筛选申请人。）

从过往的案例看，抛开软性背景， UCB和UCLA 录取的学生标化多为:

UCB：T>105; GPA>3.8; SAT>1480或ACT≥33;

UCLA：T>108; GPA>3.8; SAT>1500或ACT≥32;

当然， GPA>3.5; T>90; SAT>1400或ACT>30 的同学，这两个学校都可以尝试申请，都有录取的机会。

而 UCSB、UCSD、UCI和UCD 录取的学生标化多为：

UCSB：T>95; GPA>3.6; SAT>1450或ACT≥31;

UCI：T>90; GPA>3.6; SAT>1430或ACT≥31;

UCD：T>90; GPA>3.6; SAT>1430或ACT≥30;

UCSD：T>90; GPA>3.6; SAT>1450或ACT≥31;

这四所里面， UCSD难度相对最大，对标化的要求最高；UCSB次之 ；这两所建议 GPA>3.3; T>85; SAT>1350或ACT>29 都可尝试；

UCI和UCD录取难度相对较低，对标化的要求也可适当放低 ；建议 GPA>3.0; T>80; SAT>1250或ACT>24 都可尝试。
